群馬県館林市には、
伝統的な織物である[館林紬]が存在します。
これは千年以上にわたる歴史と伝統を誇り、
かつては主要な産業でした。

しかし、
現在では取り扱うのは市内１社に限定され、
生産は既に途絶えています。

私たちはこのような歴史と伝統の「館林紬」を、
様々なカタチで現在の日常と調和させることで、
その再興を目指しています。

Tatebayashi-Tsumugi is the traditional fabric,
with 1000 years of history.
We now have only one artisan team, Yamagishi-Orimono,
and they don’t produce new fabrics anymore.
Previous main industry of its local community is reviving, ininnovative ways.

伝統織物を布としてだけでなく、
デザインとして活用することで、
その利用の可能性を広げ、
現代の日常で使用されているアイテムとの
コラボレーションを進めています。

デザインへの興味が、いつしか伝統織物への興味へと
回帰する流れをつくりたいと考えています。

We never take it seriously to use the traditional fabric
only as clothes, but as one of the designpattern,
as this is the most innovative point.
Interests for the design pattern will go back to
interests for the traditional fabric, and culture..
